There's only one day remaining before players can get their hands on Hwang, who may be Soul Calibur 6's final DLC character, but some new goodies are now in the game to hold us over until then.

Bandai Namco have released the Version 2.30 update for SC6 which comes packing some lengthy patch notes with a ton of balance changes and new content.

It seems as though all characters are seeing adjustments with many of the DLC characters receiving some nice buffs, especially for 2B and Hilde, though Setsuka got hit with some nerfs to her damage and recovery along with Amy.

A brand new stage is now available for everyone as well with the Motien Pass Ruins, and there's also four additional stage variants as well if you want to play the Murakumo Shrine Grounds at night.

This patch also brings with it Seong Mi-na's classic costume pieces along with a ton of other new / adjusted gear as apologies for the rank reset situation on Steam.

Mitsurugi and Nightmare received new story chapters to play through as well.

You can find the full list of system changes on Bandai Namco's website along with every balance change on this page. We've also highlighted some of the more notably changed characters below.

  • The Gauntlet is the tutorial mode for Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, which has similar story telling features like Soulcalibur II’s Weapon Master mode, although the player is informed at the start that this story is non-canonical.
  • Trials consists of three portions — Trial of Attack, Trial of Defense, and Endless Trials. All of the portions are round-based battles. Trial of Attack rewards score according to how well a player can chain the attacks.
