oVirt 4.4.3 is intended for production use and is available for the following platforms:

  1. Centos 6 Download 64 Bit
  2. Centos 6.5 Iso Download
  3. Centos 6.5 Iso Download Windows 7

Engine:

  • New in CentOS 7.1-1511 64-bit: Since release 1503 (abrt= 2.1.11-19.el7.centos.0.1) CentOS-7 can report bugs directly to bugs.centos.org. You can find information about that feature at this page; sudo is now capable of verifying command checksums; A Kerberos https proxy is now available for.
  • Choose to download good ISO image file in advance(CentOS-6.5-x8664-minimal.iso)。 Start virtual machine Because we are a virtual machine installation, we do not need to detect and choose skip.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 / 8.3 (8.3 recommended)
  • CentOS Linux 8.2
  • CentOS Stream (Tech Preview)

I am installing CentOS 6.5 to RAID servers and I want to install boot and LVM to USB so I can plut the USB to any server without repeating installation process. My understanding is there could be two solutions: (1) Install boot and LVM to an at least 8GB USB. (2) Download and install CentOS-6.5-x8664-LiveDVD.iso to USB. CentOS Atomic Host. CentOS Atomic Host is a lean operating system designed to run Docker containers, built from standard CentOS 7 RPMs, and tracking the component versions included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Atomic Host. Please see this for more info concerning Atomic on CentOS. The call for presentations for the CentOS Dojo at FOSDEM 2021 is now open. Both FOSDEM itself, and the Dojo, will be held online. CentOS would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. We would like to thank the following product/service for being a CentOS sponsor.

Hosts:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 / 8.3 (8.3 recommended)
  • CentOS Linux 8.2
  • oVirt Node (based on CentOS Linux 8.2)
  • CentOS Stream (Tech Preview)

See the Release Notes for oVirt 4.4.3.

Install oVirt with Cockpit

oVirt is installed using a graphical installer in Cockpit.

oVirt Engine and a Host are installed together with the Engine running as a Virtual Machine on that Host.Once you install a second Host, the Engine Virtual Machine will be highly available. See theoVirt documentation for full details.

oVirt supports two types of Hosts:

  • oVirt Node, a minimal hypervisor operating system based on CentOS

Depending on your environment requirements, you may want to use only oVirt Nodes, only EL Hosts, or both.

Download oVirt Node

  1. Download the oVirt Node Installation ISO (current stable is oVirt Node 4.4 - Stable Release - Installation ISO)

  2. Write the oVirt Node Installation ISO disk image to a USB, CD, or DVD.

  3. Boot your physical machine from that media and install the oVirt Node minimal operating system.

Or Setup a Host

Instead of or in addition to oVirt Node, you can use a standard Enterprise Linux installation as a Host.

Centos 6 Download 64 Bit

  1. Install one of the supported operating systems (CentOS, RHEL) on your Host and update it:

  2. Add the official oVirt repository:

Install oVirt using the Cockpit wizard

  1. Enable the Base, Appstream, and Ansible repositories (Red Hat Enterprise Linux only):

  2. Install Cockpit and the cockpit-ovirt-dashboard plugin:

  3. Enable Cockpit:

  4. Open the firewall:

  5. Log in to Cockpit as root at https://[Host IP or FQDN]:9090 and click Virtualization → Hosted Engine.

  6. Click Start under the Hosted Engine option.

  7. Complete the setup wizard. As part of the setup, you will enter the Hosted Engine’s name.

  8. As part of the setup wizard, you will need to provide the location of your storage. oVirt requires a centralshared storage system for Virtual Machine disk images, ISO files, and snapshots.

  9. Once the installation completes, oVirt’s web UI management interface will start. Browse to https://[Hosted Engine’s name]/ to begin using oVirt!

See Browsers and Mobile Clients for supported browsers and mobile client information.

Setup Additional Hosts

Once the Engine is installed, you must install at least one additional Host for advanced features like migrationand high-availability.

Once you have installed additional oVirt Nodes or EL Hosts, use the oVirt Administration Portal to add them to the Engine.Navigate to Compute → Hosts → New and enter the Host details. SeeAdding a Host to the oVirt Engine for detailed instructions.

Install Virtual Machines

Once oVirt Engine is installed and you have added Hosts and configured storage, you can now install Virtual Machines! See the Virtual Machine Management Guidefor complete instructions.

For best Virtual Machine performance and accurate dashboard statistics, be sure to install theoVirt Guest Agent and Drivers for Linux[for Windows]in each Virtual Machine.

The following virtual machine guest operating systems are supported:

Consoles

The console is a graphical window that allows you to view and interact with the screen of a Virtual Machine. In oVirt, you can use a web-based console viewer or a desktop application (we recommend Remote Viewer). For Windows virtual machines, Remote Desktop Protocol is also available. See Installing Console Components,VNC Console Options, andand Browser Support and Mobile Clients for more information.
